Catholic Extension's Holy Family Fund helps low-income immigrant families when a parent is detained or deported. 

Separated families experience extreme economic insecurity and emotional trauma. This relief program provides money and support services to these children and spouses.

Many of these families have no legal pathway for unification—a consequence of our broken immigration system. This has a destabilizing effect on our society, especially when children are left behind in this country to fend for themselves.  

A recent study shows that most immigrants had been living in the U.S. for an average of 20 years before being deported or detained. Sadly, 78% of deportees reported having U.S. citizen children, with an average age of 15 years. This program helps these suffering children and families left behind.
